Special Announcement regarding Heart Disease Reports
There have been reports of an increase in a heart disease called DCM . This disease has a genetic predilection for dog breeds such as Great Danes, Dobermans, Boxers, Golden Retrievers, Cocker Spaniels and Newfoundlands. This disease is also seen in cats. It is suspected that the increase in disease rates may be related to a deficiency of taurine in certain grain free/ exotic meat diets. As of yet, there are a lot of unknowns and research is being performed to try and find the answers. If your pet has been on a grain free / exotic meat diet you may want to consider testing your pet's taurine level. Alternately, we may just want to supplement your pet's diet with taurine until we find out more from the pending research.
